Saddles & Skills: Exclusive Horsemanship Adventure

Giddy up! For Week 7 only, JNW is offering a premier equestrian experience for Scouts eager to master the art of riding and horse care. We’ve partnered with the local experts to provide an immersive, hands-on environment where Scouts can connect with these majestic animals.
This exclusive program takes Scouts off-camp to a working farm, where they’ll move beyond the basics of riding to understand the true bond between horse and rider.
Program Highlights
  • Expert Instruction: Learn directly from the seasoned trainers at Cherry Ledge Farm, known for their dedication to equine education and "Minis Helping Many" philosophy.
  • Total Care Mastery: Go beyond the saddle to learn grooming, nutrition, health checks, and the essential mechanics of tacking up (saddling and bridling).
  • Riding Fundamentals: Develop balance and control through guided riding sessions, mastering the walk and trot while learning how to "speak" to your horse through subtle cues.
  • The Merit Badge: This program is specifically designed to cover the rigorous requirements of the Horsemanship Merit Badge, combining classroom theory with practical arena time.
